Getting Started

GET YOUR KILT ON!

New Recruit's Checklist

Read The Highlander's Handbook

You'll want to have a read of this first so you know what you should and shouldn't do in the regiment.

Join Our Steam Group

This is where you'll find all of our members. Once you join, you'll also receive notifications regarding upcoming events and training sessions. Upon joining, you should add 42ndRoF Southpaw or another officer so that they can steer you in the right direction. Alternatively, just hop onto Teamspeak and ask around there (that's coming up on the list.)

Tag up

Add "42ndRoF_Cdt_" in front of your in-game character's name, eg "42ndRoF_Cdt_Player" This tells everyone that you're playing as part of The Black Watch line and let's admins know that you're part of the event. Without these tags, you risk being kicked by event admins.

Change your flag

When you're done changing your character's name or making a new character, select the 42ndRoF flag. We use the Scottish flag, seen here to the left.

Jump on Teamspeak

It's ok if you don't have a microphone--neither do quite a few of our members. It's just important that you're able to hear orders both in training and during events.

Download and install Teamspeak 3 if you haven't already by clicking the icon below:
Click "Connections", "Connect", enter this into the server address: http://syd.streamlinegames.com:10027

Go into the 42ndRoF channel. You will need the password. Ask 42ndRoF Southpaw or another officer either on Steam or right click their name in Teamspeak and "Poke" them, asking for the password.

Once you're in, we can tell you everything else you need to know.
